Russia to have counter-terrorism drills near Syria
Russian marines will have naval drills in the Mediterranean Sea near Syria, RIA Novosti reports.
«Nikolai Filchenko» and «Azov» are marine ships of the Black Sea Fleet. They passed the Bosphorus and Dardanelles and will soon join the «Moskva» missile ship, the «Smetlivy» frigate, «Ivan Bubnov» tanker and BS-406 tugboat. «Nikolai Filchenkov» and «Azov» left Novorossiysk on December 24, replacing «Novocherkassk» and «Saratov» of the Black Sea Fleet, the two ships that had had drills in early December.
