Snow causes difficult driving on Moldova's highways

It is rather difficult driving on January 8 on some roads in Moldova due to blizzards, the Emergency Service (SPCSE) has reported.

According to the SPCSE data, the access to four populated areas in Northern Soroca district namely: Vadeni, Vantina, Visoca and Schineni is blocked. Six snow-clearing vehicles and 10 persons are working at clearing up the roads.

The SPCSE also said that the traffic is rather difficult on the road sectors near the northern districts Falesti and Floresti.

On 7 January, the rescuers participated in the unblocking works and hauling of cars, which have slipped off the highways, in the districts Singerei, Stefan Voda, Orhei, Rezina, Ungheni, Leova and Calarasi.

As the glazed frost is going to maintain on the roads, the SPCSE urges the drivers to drive carefully and for their safety to have on them a shovel and sand for facing weather conditions, which might occur. In emergency situations, the citizens are recommended to call the Emergency Service 901.
