Bulgarian parliament held first plenary sitting for 2013

Bulgaria’s National Assembly held its first sitting for this year. The ruling GERB party announced that the basic priority for the government would be to continue stimulating employment and the opening of new jobs.

The party called its members and supporters to vote «Against» the Belene NPP at the forthcoming referendum on the development of nuclear energy production. The socialists in their turn accused the ruling of having drawn the country back not in years but in decades and pointed out that a radical change in the rule was necessary. The Movement for Rights and Freedoms blamed the cabinet for not fulfilling pre-election promises for coping with crime and corruption. The rightist Blue Coalition alarmed that 175 000 Bulgarian firms employ only one person and insisted for the adoption of rules for the indemnification of those employed in case of bankruptcy of the form. The nationalist Attaka party said that the government has failed on the economic plane and has done nothing for cutting down petty crime.
