Sofia calls for easier access of students to UK labour market
Sofia has called on the UK to speed up procedures required in order for foreign students to start work.
Currently the UK continues to keep restrictions to Bulgarian and Romanian workers to its labor market but foreign students have the right to work for 20 hours a week after getting a permit. Bulgarian and Romanian students, however, usually have to wait for months before they get their permit. That is why Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov has officially called for speeding up of the procedures.
