Bulgarian embassy in Iraq restored after 10 year of idleness
A delegation headed by Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nikolai Mladenov has paid a visit to Iraq. Within the framework of the visit the activity of the embassy of Bulgaria to Baghdad was officially restored after a pause of more than 10 years.
Minister Mladenov met with his counterpart Hoshyar Zebari and the Chairman of the Council of representatives Usama Abdul-Aziz Al-Najafi. The minister pointed out that for a just a year Iraq has become a major destination for Bulgarian export and added Iraq was the biggest trade partner of this country in the Arab world.
Minister Mladenov added there were Bulgarian companies that wanted to invest in construction of hospitals in Iraq. Mladenov also commented that the situation in Syria must not be allowed to escalate and spread to other countries in the region.
