Bulgarian-Italian project for prevention of crimes with Bulgarian cultural heritage launched

A Bulgarian-Italian project for increasing the capacity of police officials for the prevention of crimes related to Bulgarian cultural heritage has been launched.

The project will continue for 18 months and is financed by the Administrative Capacity OP of the EU. A special department of the Italian Carabinieri for protection of cultural heritage is the partner of the Bulgarian police in the project. One of its aims is creating a centralized database of historical items that were subject to criminal activity. The official ceremony for the start of the project will take place in Sofia on February 4.
