Next BLACKSEAFOR activation to take place in the Black Sea waters in April 2013

Russian Federation Ministry of Defense has informed that Russian representatives participated in the meeting of the Black Sea Naval Force Planning Group of the BLACKSEAFOR, PortNews reports.

The meeting was conducted in the city of Gölcük (Turkey). It was attended by representatives of Russia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, and Ukraine.

The participants discussed the ways to enhance the efficiency and transparency of the Black Sea Naval Force activities and the draft order on deployment of forces during the period of the Black Sea Naval Force spring activation under the Turkish command.

Based on the results of the meeting representatives of the Black Sea countries’ fleets agreed to engage the Black Sea Naval Force for environment protection operations and to cooperate with forces, working out the tasks within the «Black Sea Harmony» operation.
