EU should control Nabucco West project
The EU should control the implementation of the Nabucco West pipeline project, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at a meeting with his Hungarian counterpart Viktor Orban, Trend cites the TRT Haber TV channel as saying.
He said that as a Nabucco West transit country Turkey is ready to do its best to ensure an early launch of the pipeline.
Nabucco West will require the construction of a 1300 kilometre long pipeline (Bulgaria - 412 km, Romania - 469 km, Hungary - 384 km, Austria - 47 km) from the Turkish-Bulgarian border to Baumgarten. The gas will be produced within the second phase of development of the Azerbaijani Shah Deniz gas field.
Nabucco's current shareholders are Bulgarian Bulgargaz, Romanian Transgaz, Turkish Botas, Austrian OMV, German RWE and Hungary's FGSZ.
