Baku hosts session of committee for energy security of Euronest PA

Baku hosts a session of the committee for energy security within the framework of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly on February 11, attended by Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine.

The Azerbaijani delegation will be headed by Elkhan Suleimanov and will include Minister for Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev, SOCAR Vice President Elshad Nasirov and Deputy Speaker of Parliament Valekh Aleskerov. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will open the session personally.

Attendants will discuss energy security of members of the Eastern European Partnership and EU states. The session will end on February 13.

The session includes meetings in Tbilisi on February 12-13 to discuss political affairs and in Kishinev on February 14-15, a session of the committee for economic integration.

The Euronest PA held the first session in Baku in autumn 2011 and the second in April 2012. The meetings are to boost political and economic cooperation between the EU and its eastern partners.
