Turkey has 300,000 Syrian refugees

Fuat Oktay, head of AFAD, Turkish department for emergency situations, said that the number of refugees from Syria had reached 300,000, Akşam reports.

Over 181,000 refugees live in camps, 100,000 live in Turkish provinces on the Syrian border.

Turkey has spent $385 million to help refugees. Most refugees, about 83,000, can be found at the Sanliurfa Province. Others are located in the provinces of Hatay, Kilis, Kahramanmaras, Gaziantep, Adiyaman and Osmaniye.

According to the UN, 700,000 refugees have left Syria. 219,000 refugees entered Jordan, over 226,000 Lebanon, 77,500 Iraq, about 14,000 Egypt.
