Potato imports to Russia from the EU will be forbidden from June 1
Russia postpones prohibition for imports of potatoes for seed and food from the EU from April 1 to June 1.
Problems arose in the last autumn, when the European Union declared that it would limit the purchase of seeds from Russia due to incompliance with sanitary norms. In January Russia decided to introduce retaliatory measures and announced that it might stop potato exports from the EU, starting from April 1.
Russia demands that European Union must provide information on the areas of potato cultivation, free from quarantine and plant diseases. Products to Russia must be supplied exactly from such areas. The European side has not replied yet.
