Bulgaria will build nuclear waste depot

The International Fund Kozloduy will grant EUR 72 million for the national repository for radioactive waste for low and medium radioactivity wastes.

The depot should be built by 2015, the State Enterprise Radioactive Waste informs. The repository will house in the following 300 years the nuclear wastes from the decommissioned NPP blocks 1-4 and those form the work of the acting blocks 5 and 6. After 2015 the device will receive 140 thousand cubic meters of wastes placed in concrete cubes.
