New Romanian IDs to take effect from July 1

Starting from summer 2013 Romania will have new identity cards.

The authorities will start issuing new identity cards, complying with the European model, on July 1. The new document will have a smaller size than the plastic ID card and will contain data, applied by printing or laser engraving. All those who which may choose to get an electronic version of the card.
