Moldova to have customs laboratory to expertise imported goods

The Moldovan Customs Service will be endowed with an up to date laboratory meant to expertise imported goods within a project which was officially launched on 4 March.

Till now, such expertise was being carried out by the support of other customs laboratories from the neighbouring countries.

Once with the opening of the above mentioned laboratory, the expertise and the research of goods will be carried out in laboratory conditions by the experts of the Customs Service, who have been especially trained to this end. The project «IMPEFO - the improvement of the cross border cooperation between Moldova and Romania on petroleum and food products» is being implemented by the Moldovan Customs Service in partnership with the National Customs Authority of Romania.

The project´s implementation will essentially facilitate the Customs Service´s activity on fighting customs frauds.
