Moldovan public servants to receive higher wages
Public servants will receive higher wages. The MPs made on March 7, 2013 some amendments to the Law on the budgetary wage system.
According to the law, the monthly salaries of the local servants, deputy mayors, deputy heads and district heads will increase up by 48 per cent.
Pursuant to the law, over 1,566 public servants from the local public authorities, including MPs, 773 prosecutors, 516 judges will benefit from a 7-per-cent salary increase. About 1,143 mayors and district heads will receive an up to 48 per cent higher wage.
The public servants will also benefit from an annual bonus amounting to three monthly wages. The bonus will be provided in line with an internal regulation, approved by a local council’s decision.
About 4 million lei will be monthly allotted from the budget in order to cover the salary increase.
