Istanbul city authorities are preparing for the 8th International Tulip Festival

About 20 million flowers will be planted for the festival throughout the city, Antaliya today informs.

They began to plant tulips for this festival in November 2012. Planting works will continue until April. Tulips are planted in popular parks of the city, such as Emirgan Park, Gülhane Park, Büyük Çamlıca and Fethipaşa Park. 8th International Tulip Festival will be held in the park Emirgan in April. It is planned to plant 13 million tulips and 7 million hyacinths and amaryllis. In 2012, the tulip festival began on April 1 and lasted until the end of the month. At that time, 11.5 mln tulips and 4 mln daffodils were planted on Istanbul streets and parks. First International Tulip Festival was conducted in 2005.
