Georgia detains a Turkish ship from Abkhazia with Russian and Azerbaijani citizens
Georgian authorities have detained the Turkish ship "Aydar" sailing from Abkhazia to the Turkish port of Trabzon, the general director of the state-owned "Abkhaz Shipping Company" Zaur Ardzinba says.
Ardzinba said that a ship laden with fish meal and fish oil was detained in international waters and escorted to the port of Poti. The incident occurred on March 20, 2013, but became known only on March 21, 2013.
"Georgian authorities arrested the ship, the crew of nine people was also detained, including two Russian citizens, and two citizens of Ukraine, and five citizens of Azerbaijan," RIA Novosti quotes Ardzinba.
Comments of the Abkhaz authorities have not yet been received.
