500 refugees seek shelter in Bulgaria in 2 months
In February as many as 228 persons from 29 countries have asked for asylum in Bulgaria, according to figures from the State Agency for Refugees.
Humanitarian status has been given to 82 persons, while another 22 have been given the status of refugees. As of the beginning of 2013 nearly 500 people have looked for protection in this country. According to Eurostat, emigrants on a world scale reach around 214 million people, which is about 3 percent of the overall population of the world.
