Customs officer caught smuggling diamonds in Armenia

Arsen Papazyan, head of the customs office of the Zvartsnots Airport of Yerevan, has been caught smuggling over 0.5kg of diamonds together with Ashot Gasparyan, RIA Novosti reports.

The shipment was made from the United Arab Emirates on March 1, 2013. The customs officer may get up to 12 years of prison.

The diamonds were worth about $10 million.
