Russia values Armenia as CSTO member
Russia considers cooperation with Armenia within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) highly efficient, RIA Novosti cites Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at a meeting with his Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandian.
The high efficiency of their collaboration is proven by the agreements the two states reached, including the ones signed at the CSTO summit in December 2012. The documents strengthen the organization and improve reaction to foreign threats.
Lavrov emphasized that cooperation with Armenia was constant. Sergey Shoygu, Russian Defense Minister, Colonel-General Valery Gerasimov, Chief of Russian General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister, have recently visited Armenia and discussed bilateral cooperation.
