Kakheti farmers demand sale of land to foreigners in Georgia to stop
Farmers of Kakheti have started collecting signatures to supplement the request to stop land sales to foreigners made for the parliament and prime minister in January 2013.
They collected 25,000 signatures in April and demand studies of legality of the sales and development of a strategy to get the land back.
Georgian Minister for Agriculture David Kirvalidze noted that the law does not restrict sales of the land to foreigners. He added that a summarized list of land will be made.
