Electoral threshold to be increased in Moldova

On May 3 Moldovan parliament voted in final reading the draft law, which provides for an increase in the electoral threshold from four to six per cent.

The initiative belongs to the opposition Party of Communists (PCRM) and obtained a majority of votes. The draft law sees that the electoral threshold would be increased for electoral blocs as well from seven to nine per cent.
