Turkish fighter jet crashes near Syrian border
A Turkish F-16 fighter, which disappeared from the radar screens earlier today, has crashed. According to preliminary reports, the cause of the accident was technical failure.
"The plane crashed. At the moment we cannot get to the debris," the governor of Osmaniye, Dzhelalettin Jerry, told the local media, RIA News reports.
According to the Turkish Armed Forces, communication with the F-16 / C fighter was interrupted at 15:15 MSK during a regular flight in the region of Amanoslar, after the pilot had issued the message "catapult."
