Nikitsky Botanical Garden opened the annual iris exhibition

According to the employee of the botanical garden Irina Ulanovskaya, the exhibition presents Conjuration, Sky Hooks, and Thornbird varieties of the «space generation».

She has explained that these iris breeds got their «space» name owing to the specific excrescences on the flowers, making them look quite exotically, Crimean news informs.

The garden expert has also noted that at present the exhibition exposition also includes the blossoming of the tall iris breeds: «This year we have planted more than 200 kinds, and 176 of them are tall. Every three years we plant new breeds of irises».
