Ecological restoration will renew two mini deltas in Romania
Two mini deltas will appear at the Romanian lands, drained during the communism times.
The controlled flooding of agricultural territories will cost approximately 6.7 million lei. The financing has been provided for in the EU funds in the framework of the Operating Sectoral Environment Program.
The project «Ecological restoration of public domain lands at Mahmudia community, including the agricultural Carasuhat at Danube Delta» was presented 3 years ago, and the contract for investment by project partners – WWF and Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve – was signed in December 2012.
Mahmudia municipality has recently launched the tender for project implementation, which will cover the territory of 1000 hectares, Obiectiv de Tulcea informs.
