This year’s autumn draft to the national army service to be final – Ukrainian Ministry of Defense

Such information was announced on June 1 at the official website of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense in response to the publication of a Ukrainian newspaper that the term for the transfer to the contract army service at the will be postponed.

The Ministry of Defense has informed that the last draft to the national army service will be conducted in autumn 2013. And the last serviceman will be transferred to the reserve in 2014.

When all stages of the State comprehensive program of the Ukrainian army service reformation until 2017, adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers on May 29, 2013, are completed, the total number of the military force members will be cut down from 184 thousand to 122 thousand people.

Such optimization will be conducted owing to the reduction in the number of provision units and strengthening of military units, directly involved into the military training.
