Ukrainian Navy LSM Kirovohrad (U401) performs sea trials
Tuesday, June 04. MYKOLAIV – Kirovohrad (U401) Medium Landing Ship of the Ukrainian Navy performs sea trials, tests the main engines and auxiliary systems after repair.
Since September 2012, Kirovohrad Medium Landing Ship has been repaired at the Black Sea Shipbuilding Plant (Mykolaiv). This repair of main engines will allow using it during next ten years. In addition, it is important that about 40 tons of hull plating and fuel tanks were replaced; all the ship systems were repaired.
On arrival to the place of permanent deployment, the crew of Kirovohrad Medium Landing Ship will start an intensive period of preparation and execution of the necessary tasks in the Black Sea.
As previously reported, the last six months, the Black Sea Shipbuilding Plant completed repair of Dnipro missile corvette, Perejasliv ship and Konstantin Olshansky large landing ship.
