Turkey's Akcakale border gate reopened
Turkey's Customs and Trade Minister Hayati Yazici announced that Turkey's southeastern Akcakale Border Gateconnecting on the Syrian frontier was reopened on June 6.
«Akcakale Border Gate is reopened as of today. Security is increased to the highest level at the gate,» Yazici said in a written statement.
The gate remained closed for at least a month for security reasons after a stampede between Syrian shelter-seekers and Turkish security forces that left one police officer dead on May 2.
