Crimea wants to host electric vehicle auto race

The Crimea plans to conduct the first annual auto race of electric vehicles.

According to one of the auto race organizers, Department Manager at “SIG Motors” Company Mikhail Demuriy, the event is scheduled for August. It will involve approximately 15 electric vehicles – both production cars and homemade vehicles.

The auto race will start in Simferopol, going via Alushta, Yalta, Sevastopol, and Saki, and will finish in Yevpatoria.

According to organizers, the auto race objective is to shatter the myths on the incapacity of electric vehicles.

Deputy Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Crimea Olga Burova believes that electric transport development will render positive influence upon the image of the Crimea as an ecologically clean resort.
