No parliamentary session today due to lack of quorum
The Bulgarian parliament won’t have a sitting today due to a lack of quorum.
Hundreds gathered in front of its building, demanding a resignation of the government and booing the MPs at increased police presence.
The idea for the protest occurred on the social network.
Deputy Chair of Parliament Maya Manolova went to the protesters and invited them to a sitting of the committee on the Election Code amendments, but had to return to the building, while the crowd was booing.
Former MP, poet and public person Edvin Sugarev kicked off a hunger-strike. He stated in an open letter to PM Oresharski that he won’t end it until the resignation of the government.
