Mélange export from Odesa region starts under OSCE-Ukraine project

The scheduled event for loading and shipment of 370 tons of mélange started in Odesa region. This event is held under the Joint Ukraine – OSCE Project. The dangerous liquid will be sent in railway tanks to the Russian Federation for recycling at the state enterprises of the military-industrial complex.

More than 3 500 tons of mélange will leave the depot of the Ukrainian Land Forces in Odesa region. The next batch of mélange will leave Odesa region at the beginning of August.

The financial side of the project is provided by Denmark, France, Germany, Norway, Poland, the USA, Finland, Hungary, Czech Republic, and Sweden. According to the military unit command, it will be possible to get rid completely of mélange to the end of 2013 summer.
