Interdepartmental economic communication platform to be created in Moldova
An interdepartmental platform for communication, which will deal with the efficient management of policies in the development of the national economy and will be headed by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar, will be set up in Moldova.
Valeriu Lazar said at a news conference today that the commission will start operating on a permanent basis and will offer consulting services.
“Its main goal is to develop the long-term and efficient partnership between institutions dealing with the country’s development, in order to ensure the financial, institutional and informational cooperation in the implementation of policies,” he said.
The deputy premier reasoned the need to set up this platform by the fact that “the volumes of the Moldovan funds are increasing, but at the same time, no significant headway is recorded in the country.”
“Due to the creation of this platform, we are planning to synchronize the implementation of different projects, to gradually develop the national infrastructure, to enhance the management mechanisms of the national development funds and to remove any imbalances in this sector,” he said.
The platform will be functioning both at central and at regional level. At central level, a coordination council will be set up in the country. It will be made up of representatives of the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Regional Development and Construction, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure, Ministry of Environment, Agency for Land Relations and Cadastre, National Tourism Agency, The Regional Development Agencies (North, Center, South), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova, the Congress of Local Authorities, representatives of consultative and support bodies, industrial parks and free economic zones. It is planned that the new platform will hold quarterly meetings. At the same time, the dialogue between members of this platform will be held on a constant basis. The platform will present annual activity reports.
At regional level, representatives of regional development agencies will have to establish and analyze the problems of the Moldovan regions, to ensure the permanent cooperation between national and regional institution, to announce the coordination council about any cases of inefficient use of public investments, to take part in the process of implementing the decisions taken by the coordination council.
Deputy Chairperson of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vladimir Didilica spoke for including also representatives of the Ministry of Education in this platform, explaining that often, investors complain about the lack of qualified specialists and about the fact that the national education system does not meet the requirements of the business environment.
Moldovan Minister of Regional Development and Construction, Marcel Raducan also spoke about the need to expand the composition of the platform, noting that this is a necessary step for clearly defining and solving the existent problems.
