Georgian authorities fire about 6,000 functionaries in four months
Transparency International said yesterday that the new Georgian government had fired 5,683 functionaries from October 20, 2012, to March 1, 2013, News Georgia reports.
41% left jobs voluntarily. 7008 new functionaries were hired, 257 (4%) of them were chosen in a competition.
897 employees were dismissed at the Interior Ministry, 883 at the Ministry for Labour, Healthcare and Social Protection, 690 at the Defense Ministry, 567 at the Justice Ministry, 278 at the Ministry for Finances.
1679 people lost jobs, 1022 of them resigned, including 585 in Kakheti, 290 in Imereti, 241 in Adjara.
