First industrial park to be built in Southern Moldova
Prime Minister Iurie Leanca August 28 paid a visit to southern Cimişlia district, where he participated in the launching of the construction project of an industrial park, on a 40-hectar land, near the town. Subsequently, the park will be extended to up to 100 ha, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
“This first European park, on a free land, will become a successful one, I hope that it will be an element to transform our country into an European functional state. I hope we will build here as well a successful project, as we have managed yesterday to launch the construction of the Iasi-Ungheni gas pipeline, with financing from the European Commission,” Leanca said.
Leanca said that the industrial park’s opening meant creation of more sophisticated, well-paid jobs. The park is especially designed for the processing of agricultural products.
A German investor has already announced his intention to invest, who appeared at the event in an helicopter, which landed on the terrain where this park would be built.
The local authorities qualified the event as a historic day for Cimislia district.
