Turkish Prime Minister lightens details to democratize country
On Monday, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced a new package of measures for counry's democratization, Turkish TRT Haber TV channel reported.
As the channel reported, according to a new package of measures for democratization, all the political parties in Turkey will move to a system of two chairmen, that is two chairmen will lead parties.
In addition, the Prime Minister said that during the election campaign parties may use not only Turkish, but also other languages spoken in the country.
Also, in order to eliminate inter-ethnic conflicts in the country, a term of imprisonment for crimes motivated by racial hatred will be increased by three years, the package of measures specified.
The package for democratization also provides lifting the ban on hijab headscarves in government offices in Turkey.
