Four mountaineers rescued in central Turkey

Four Turkish climbers were rescued in the mountain of Demirkazık, in Nigde province of Central Anatolia, on September 22.

Four of the climbers, who participated the training camp of Turkish Mountain/Climbing Federation, headed for reaching the summit after completing their training. Due to strong winds and heavy rain, the group of climbers decided to turn back, when they were two hundred meters from the summit. On the way back one climber got lost and three others have got stuck. The three climbers called the gendarme for help on Friday afternoon. A search and rescue operation have been launched in aid of Gendarme Search and Rescue (JAK) and Provincial Disaster and Emergency Directorate (AFAD). Zeynep Ozal, Kerem Tabak and Kaan Erbas who have sheltered in a cave and the missing mountaineer Samet Hasırcı who were around Karamuk region were rescued following the rescue operations.

The rescued climbers were taken to Camardi State Hospital for medical treatment and then went to District Gendarmerie Command Hear to testify.

Apart from the four climbers, Mert Haskan was also with them but managed to get the camping area on his own and informed the officials to rescue his other friends.
