Almost 80 % of Romania's exports, imports go to and come from Germany and Italy, in 2011
Romania's main partners in consumer goods import and export activities were Germany, Italy and Hungary, in 2011, when almost 80 percent of our country's exports and imports went to and came from the first two countries, reads a report on the EU single market that the EU Commission's officials in Romania presented on October 30.
According to the report, Italy (41.4 percent) and Germany (38.5 percent) were Romania's top partners in import and export exchanges, last year.
Likewise, Romania's commercial openness was a little higher than the EU average, in 2010, so that the intra-EU commerce posed for 56 percent of our country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and 12 percent less than the EU average (68 percent).
At the same time, the EU commodity imports and exports from and to Romania totalled 48 percent of our country's GDP, in 2010, by 8 percent beneath the EU average, while 80 percent of the commercial exchanges go to and come from the 27 EU Member States.
