Azerbaijan to set monopoly for prices of medicaments

The Azerbaijani Ministry for Healthcare and the Ministry for Economic Development will authorize the Tariff Council to set prices for medicaments, Deputy Healthcare Minister Elsevyar Agayev said on February 14, Trend reports.

Medicaments will have a fixed price, regardless of the region, the way it is done in many countries, including some European ones.

The deputy minister reminded that medicaments lacking instructions in the Azerbaijani language will be banned on June 1. A special group of the ministry corrects the instructions. The Criminal Code has articles punishing violation of norms for imports of medicaments.
