TAP makes extended proposals to Shah Deniz

The Shah Deniz Consortium has received an extended package of offers from the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) project to choose the final route to transport Azerbaijani gas to Europe, Trend cites Kjetil Tungland, Director General of the TAP.

He emphasized that TAP characteristics were the best. It is the shortest route to transport gas.

The official noted that signing of the intergovernmental agreement by Italy, Greece and Albania on February 13, 2013, was the most significant achievement.

TAP will transport gas from the Caspian Region through Greece, Albania, Adriatic Sea to the southern part of Italy. It will have a capacity of 10 billion cubic meters annually and may be extended to 20 billion. TAP shareholders are AXPO (Switzerland, 42.5% of shares), Statoil (Norway, 42.5%), E.ON Ruhrgas (Germany, 15%).
