Moldovan companies on the rise in first quarter of 2013
The number of companies that had been registered in the first quarter of 2013 recorded an insignificant increase, reaching 1797, against the same period of time in 2012, whereas the number of companies that suspended their activity or got dissolved, has considerably decreased, reaching 18 per cent, according to data of the State Chamber of Registration (CIS).
«It is a reverse trend comparing to the same period in 2012, when the number of registered companies decreased, whereas the list of companies that had been removed from the State Register increased in the first quarter of 2012,» experts say.
According to the CIS, 1797 companies were registered in January-March, against 1757 in 2012. The highest number of registered companies in the last four years has been recorded by the CIS’s office in Chisinau. The economic slowdown caused a decrease in the number of Modlovan registered businesses, however, they returned to normal in early 2013.
According to the CIS, the number of companies removed from the State Register decreased by more than 150. As a total, 700 companies had been deleted from the State Register in the first quarter of 2013, against 852 in the same period in 2012.
A number of 1064 companies had been registered by the CIS’s branch in Chisinau and the other 733 had been registered by other CIS territorial branches. However, the number of companies that suspended their activity or had been reorganised in various regions is 2.5 bigger than in Chisinau.
The CIS offices registered 6274 companies in 2012, seven per cent less against 2011. More than half of the registered companies operate in the wholesale and retail trade sector, six per cent specialise on agriculture and three per cent operate in the constructions sector. On the other hand, the number of closed companies decreased in 2012, though it had been a rather difficult year for many enterprises. Thus, 3128 enterprises had been removed from the State Register in 2013, against 3430 in 2012.
