Length of alternative service reduced in Armenia

The National Assembly of Armenia adopted in the second and final reading amendments to the law «On Alternative Service», which reduce the service term from 35 to 30 months.
In addition, the bill provides for the creation of a special Republican board, which would include representatives of various bodies of executive power. The commission will consider each case individually and determine whether it is appropriate to send a conscript to the military or civilian service, Armenia News reported.
