Baku ready to host Euro 2020

Hosting the European Football Championship in 2020 in Baku is a great opportunity to represent our country and develop football in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan's Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov said on May 23.

According to him, the absence of a condition of building new stadiums, as it was with regards to Ukraine and Poland, is very important, as it requires a large investment.

Rahimov said if it is decided to hold the European Championship in several countries, the Olympic Stadium for 68,000 spectators under construction in Baku and the capitally renovated stadium named after Tofig Bakhramov will be capable of hosting the European Football Championship.
