Construction works in Romania advance 8.8 pct in April in unadjusted terms
Construction works in Romania advanced 8.8 per cent this April in unadjusted monthly terms, but it declined 3.7 per cent in terms adjusted for business days and seasonality, according to data released on June 10 by the National Statistics Institute (INS).
Compared with April 2012, construction works were down 9.4 per cent in unadjusted terms and 10.1 per cent in terms adjusted for business days and seasonality.
January 1 - April 30, 2013, compared with January 1 - April 30, 2012, construction works were down bot in unadjusted and adjusted term 6 per cent and 6.6 per cent, respectively.
Maintenance works and current repairs increased by 29.56 percent, overhaul works were up 6.6 per cent while new construction works were up 2.5 per cent.
Construction works on non-residential buildings were up 21 per cent; woks on residential buildings were up 9.7 per cent, while engineering works advanced 3.8 per cent.
In adjusted terms that take into account the number of business days and seasonality, construction works were down 3.7 per cent in April 2013 on a monthly basis.
Maintenance works and current repairs also increased by 11 per cent.
