Odessa receives about $1 billion in foreign investment

As of the beginning of October this year, the total amount of foreign direct investment in Odessa's economy was about $911 million, the main department of statistics in Odessa region told UKRINFORM.
The total amount of foreign direct investment in the economy of Odessa, including loan capital, as of October 1, 2012 totaled 911 million U.S. dollars, of which the capital of nonresidents directed to the statutory funds of enterprises was 739,600 thousand dollars.
Among the world leaders by foreign direct investment in the economy of the city of Odessa there are Cyprus (24.8% of the total direct investment in the city), the Netherlands (17.9%), the United States (7.9%), the UK (6.9%) and France (6.2%).
