Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will visit Ukraine on January 13-14. "We will also discuss the participation of Ukraine in the Customs Union," the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Leonid Kozhara, said.

Kozhara also said that Moscow and Kiev will hold intensive negotiations on Ukraine's participation in the Customs Union. "In the first few months (of the year) we will stimulate discussion on the format of Ukraine's participation in the Customs Union, without entering it," the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry noted.

The Ukrainian authorities are sticking to the course on European integration, but they want to cooperate with the Customs Union in the format of "3 +1", following only some regulations of the Customs Union. In turn, Russia offers Kiev full participation in the Eurasian integration process, promising preferential, duty-free energy supply.
