The National Meteorology Administration (ANM) on Wednesday issued two Code Yellow warnings of snowfalls, blizzard and heavy rain starting from Thursday in 23 counties and as of Friday across the whole country.
According to the above-quoted source, since 12:00 (at noon) on March 14 until 10 a.m. on March 15, there will be heavy rain in central and northern Romania. Rain will turn into snow and sleet on Thursday night. Precipitations will exceed 20-25 liters per square meter in mountainous areas.
There will be gale-force winds blowing at 55-70 km per hour, and at more than 80-90 km per hour in the mountain. Over the aforementioned interval, snow will be accompanied by blizzard conditions.
Starting with Friday, March 15, between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m., the Forecaster issued a Code Yellow warning of wind gusts, heavy rain, even snow across the entire country. Wind speed will increase across all regions, with gusts reaching 55-70 km per hour, and exceeding 90 km per hour in the mountain.
Snow, accompanied by blizzard conditions, will hit Banat, Crisana, Maramures, some parts of Transylvania and northern Moldova.
